About the role 

We are seeking an experienced Editorial Manager to oversee the content production for trivela.com.br. In this role, he/she will drive the editorial calendar, manage the newsroom, and develop innovative audience engagement strategies to grow website traffic & engagement.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of football culture, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality digital content that resonates with diverse audiences. As our Editorial Manager you will; 

  • Lead and refine editorial strategy to create valuable content that strengthens brand authority and supports business goals. Protect Trivela's tradition and credibility, maintaining its legacy while innovating for the future.

  • Oversee daily content production to ensure it meets quality/volume standards and is relevant to the audience. Guide the desk’s editing process with an emphasis on accuracy, clean copy, strong reporting, clear writing, sharp framing and timely publishing.

  • Develop coverage plans, series, formats, and evergreen content that engages audiences.

  • Manage and execute the content calendars, editorial production trackers, collaborating with the Head of Media to align with overall NSN’s strategy.

  • Lead audience development and growth strategies, working the Head of Media, plus SEO, Product and Analytics teams to track progress and optimize content.

  • Mentor and manage a team of journalists and content creators, fostering a culture of creativity and professional growth. Establish processes and priorities for a steady workflow for all of our desk’s functions.

  • Craft guidelines and best practices to develop Trivela’s content strategy and growth on Social Media.

  • Edit and publish stories via WordPress, and help guide fellow editors to do the same in various phases in the story process.

  • Oversee the vertical’s financial budget and manage travel needs.

Your profile should include;

  • 7+ years of experience in sports journalism, including direct editorial and personnel management.

  • Keen news judgment, with experience framing stories in an engaging way for readers. Proven success in setting targets and creating data-based editorial strategies that lead to audience growth.

  • High-end knowledge of Brazilian and International football and how key moments resonate and interact with the wider world.

  • Clear understanding of sensitive subjects and source vetting, with the ability to coach reporters and editors in challenging journalistic situations.

  • The ability to lead teams through times of transition.

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills: Ability to work effectively across departments to optimize workflows, elevate content execution, and achieve shared goals.

  • Knowledge of SEO, online marketing and UX; WordPress and Google Analytics.

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or journalism.

  • Advanced English – written and spoken.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed, serving on call for major stories and sporting events.

  • This position is based in São Paulo.
