About the role :
We are looking for an experienced head of social media to provide support across social handles for our international portfolio of sports sites.
This is an exciting opportunity for a sports-mad social media editor or community manager to take responsibility for developing a social voice and personality across a diverse range of sports assets.
Deep sports knowledge is essential, as well as a proven and up to date track record of overseeing social media growth, ideally for a diverse range of brands across multiple social channels.
As our Head of Social Media you will:

Develop and oversee impactful organic social media strategies for a portfolio of international sports sites across a range of social handles/channels

Lead a team of social media specialists, establishing culture of creativity and collaboration, underpinned with data-driven decision making
-
Develop specific brand-by-brand tone of voice and personality per brand asset, reflecting central asset core niche and identity

Cultivate social media communities across non-traditional-media handles (e.g. Whatsapp, Telegram, Reddit)

Define ideal production rhythm and workflow to increase social voice and drive traffic to sites

Establish, monitor, evaluate KPIs to measure campaign impact and success

Assessment and introduction of online tools to support social production
Your profile should include :

Extensive track record in social media, with a specialism in sports

Experience with handling a variety of brand assets across diverse social media handles

Clear understanding of the relationship between social media and website traffic

Background in managing international social media teams, demonstrating seniority, leadership skills and management capacity

Up-to-date knowledge of where and how sports fans consume their media/editorial content in 2025

Able to understand, transmit, execute the marriage of rich, authentic social content and engaging, targeted execution

Professional fluency in English, another language – particularly Portuguese, Spanish and / or French) would be a bonus

Knowledge of leveraging social handles to build communities of sports-mad fans connected with our relevant niches/site identities.
